This painting draws attention to the plight of honey-bees, which are dying in huge numbers, and does not bode well for our future.

In art, red has come to represent revolution, danger, or blood, and the name of the painting suggests bee-aware. The use of pointillism in the background suggests swarms.

Unfortunately this work was rejected by the EAC Over 60s Art Awards 2008.

This painting was donated to a Charity Shop in St. Ives, but it never went on display. When the artist questioned their practice of not giving receipts or keeping a record of donations, a director at the Charity stated they were far too busy to keep records, except for cash donations.

Dr. Wu's practice is within walking distance of the Cambridge Science park.
